(Even though it's only March, people are sitting outside enjoying the food and the view. Owner Jody Manor is passionate about the long neglected waterfront and is spearheading schemes to give the public unbroken access. Revival has already started with the Torpedo Factory Art Center and, in the summer, the Potomac Riverboat Company. offers a variety of cruises, including a tour of the Washington monuments.)

(The great thing about this place is that you can sit with the beautiful waterfront view in Alexandria...There is even a sushi chef that brings the sea into this Old Town cafe! This is the perfect place to have a date night or a fun mom's day out. The waterfront market is also super kid friendly and it is so nice how well they treat your children. i am sure this will be a regular hang out for me and my friends.)

(One of the city’s newest offerings is on the waterfront next to the Torpedo Factory. Opened by the owner of the well-regarded Bittersweet Cafe (practically an institution in Old Town for three decades), the casual spot offers soups, creative salads and sandwiches, sushi and flatbreads.)
